Our farm is full of animals, with cows and calves, chickens, ponies, dogs, cats, rabbits and barn owls. Together with our son Lenn we care for all our animals and work the land so the grass and corn for the cows can grow. That's what we do 365 days a year! After all, milking cows needs to happen twice a day, seven days a week. When you stay at our farm, you can help out will all kinds of farm jobs.
Our farm only knows one rhythm, the rhythm of the farm. The cows and the seasons decide when we can do our work. As a farm family you therefore still live according to the laws of nature, and that's a good thing in a time where we're influenced by internet, computers, smartphones and television 24 hours a day.
At 'Koe in de Kost' we try to make you part of the farm's rhythm. No television and we can even turn the internet off for you, but we do offer you lots of free space and free time. You don't have to do anything, but if you want you can do all kinds of things on the farm! We've chosen to not offer fixed activities for which you need to sign up in advance since our cows decide at what time they need to be milked and fed every day.
You can have fun on the farm all year long! Because nature already gives us so much, there is a playground on our farm with a small football pitch, trampoline, swings and pedal cars. But the most fun can, of course, be had by roaming the fields and looking for ears of maize, building your own straw huts in the straw barn, climbing the sand hills and jumping in puddles! Or enjoy a cuddle with the rabbits, cats and the dogs Evi and Kiddik.
If you'd like to help us on the farm or feel like playing outside a lot, please remember to bring mostly old clothes, rubber boots and perhaps real coveralls (click here to order coveralls). That way you'll be well prepared for dung freckles and straw itches! Are mum and dad looking forward to a little time with just each other? We offer a babysitting service, so the two of you can go to dinner for example.
Time for a dose of vitamin N(ature)? You are very welcome at our farm for a holiday, a trip with friends or a business session on the pasture!
